About SaaSPillar

What SaaSPillar researches, who it serves, and how its evidence-led decision support works.

Last updated: October 10, 2026

SaaSPillar.com is an independent research and decision-support publication for people choosing business software, professional courses, certifications, and practical tools. It is being built for readers who need more than feature lists and generic star ratings.

Our central question is simple: what does this option mean for this particular buyer? That requires examining audience fit, limitations, total cost, implementation effort, time to value, alternatives, and the conditions under which a purchase may—or may not—make economic sense.

Three-part publication architecture

The first two pillars are equal research and affiliate-candidate publications. A third, separate pillar is reserved for products created by SaaSPillar.com itself. The third pillar is part of the long-term architecture but is not yet commercially active.

Software and digital tools

The Software pillar covers business systems and digital tools such as CRM, accounting, payments, project management, automation, marketing, cybersecurity, hosting, ecommerce, document software, and selected specialist applications.

We evaluate software against category-specific requirements. A CRM is not judged using the same framework as a password manager, accounting platform, PDF editor, or cloud service.

Courses, certifications and professional learning

The Education pillar covers individual courses, professional certificates, certification preparation, structured learning paths, and selected university learning products.

The relevant questions include total cost, time commitment, assessment quality, curriculum coverage, provider credibility, exam-version relevance, career fit, prerequisites, and the difference between course completion and an independently awarded professional credential.

SaaSPillar models, calculators and professional resources

The third pillar will contain SaaSPillar-owned products such as professional models, calculators, spreadsheets, workbooks, templates, and selected PDF resources. The first reference concept is a Utility-Scale BESS Commercial & Project Finance Model.

Owned products are not counted within the first-year target of 150 Software and 150 Education affiliate candidates. They will have their own methodology, product documentation, pricing, licence terms, support information, and disclosures. No planned model, calculator, download, or product should be treated as available for purchase until an actual product page and delivery route have been published.

What makes the research different

SaaSPillar is not intended to be a vendor directory or a collection of rewritten product pages. Mature decision pages are designed to explain:

  • who an option is best suited to—and who should avoid it;
  • what the buyer receives and what important limitations remain;
  • the current price basis and likely first-year and recurring cost;
  • implementation, migration, training and switching considerations;
  • measurable value scenarios using visible assumptions;
  • credible alternatives and the trade-offs between them;
  • what may be lost through inaction when suitable evidence exists;
  • how confident we are in the available evidence.

Calculations distinguish verified facts, SaaSPillar calculations, modeled scenarios, third-party reported outcomes, and unknown information. Missing information is not silently converted to zero or treated as proof that a feature does not exist.

Evidence and scientific literature

Every mature review or decision article receives a documented search for relevant scholarly evidence. When a useful paper exists, the page should identify its authors, title, publication, year, DOI or stable link, study design, sample, geography, relevant finding, and material limitations.

A category-level study does not prove that one named product will reproduce the same result. Correlation is not described as causation, and reported averages are not presented as guaranteed outcomes for every business or learner.

Editorial independence and funding

SaaSPillar.com may eventually be supported by affiliate relationships, owned digital products, or other clearly disclosed commercial activity. During the current establishment phase, ranked candidates are researched for compatible publisher-affiliate eligibility, but public affiliate links are not activated without program approval and exact-offer verification.

Commission value does not determine a product’s editorial score, position, stated limitations, or conclusion. Commercial eligibility and editorial evaluation are separate controls. Our Affiliate Disclosure explains this model in detail.

Current stage

SaaSPillar.com is presently a controlled independent project, not a registered company. The site is being developed as a static Hugo publication. Some prototype pages may remain accessible for design and systems testing while being excluded from search-engine indexation, public structured data, and commercial use.

This About page describes the intended editorial operation. It does not claim that every planned category, tool, owned product, feature, rating, account function, or affiliate relationship is already active.

For more detail, read the Editorial Policy, Corrections Policy, Affiliate Disclosure, and Methodology.

Disclosure. Disclosure: Some pages may include affiliate links. If you buy through these links, the site may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Editorial opinions remain independent.
